 The unveiling of the Book “The Urmia in The War Of The World” in Baku/the Hidden History and Tragedy Of South Azerbaijan

In the history of South Azerbaijan, the most forging and distortion of the Azerbaijan history have related to the World War I and the years after that.

This historical period (World War I and the years after that) also has affected South-South Azerbaijan, as in other parts of the world, which is essential to learn and review those events.

Today, Azerbaijani researchers and historians have investigated these events more or less, however, the Persians and intellectuals of this ethnic have boycotted and ignored the historical facts of South Azerbaijan during World War I.

One of the main true sources for studying the bloody events of South Azerbaijan in that period has written in the book “The Urmia in The War Of The World“.The content of this book is based on the memories recorded by the deceased “Rahmatullah Khan Mutamed-Al Vuzara Kafil Kargozari”.

At that time, Rahmatullah Khan worked at the office of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Urmia. He has written what he saw. These manuscripts were prepared and edited by Mr. Kaveh Bayat in 2001.

This valuable work was aimed at examining the bloody events of that period and the crimes committed by Armenians and Kurds which is a historical treasure. The tragedies of that period are reviewed in the book.

During the first World War about 200,000 Azerbaijani Turks were killed and all the evidence of these disasters had been destroyed.

The book “The Urmia in The War Of The World”  describes the events of the West Azerbaijan known as jilolug tragedy Sponsored by Mr. Ahmad Obali, founder and director of Gunaz Tv (the official media of South Azerbaijan), translated from Persian to Azerbaijani Turkish.

The book is the most acclaimed works related to the events of the jilolug tragedy  in the West of South Azerbaijan

This book was translated by Shamsi Pahlavan from Persian to Azerbaijani Turkish language and edited by Professor Nisib Nasibali.

The book unveiled in a ceremony with the presence of Mr. Ahmad Obali and a group of intellectuals, both South and North Azerbaijan researchers and prominent Azerbaijani figures in Baku-North Azerbaijan on Thursday 19th April.It should be added that the book is widely welcomed by the presents.

At the ceremony, Ahmed Obaligave a speech and said that the world will be aware of the jilolug crimes and Armenian crimes. He also expressed that the book will be considered by the readers as the only reference book for South Azerbaijan from the first World War.

Mr.Nizami Jafarov & Mr. Saber Rostam Khani the Mp’s of North Azerbaijan have participated in the ceremony.They have described the jilolug crimes and the importance of the book “The Urmia in The War Of The World”  in the history of Azerbaijan.

It should be highlighted that thousands of South Azerbaijani Turks were massacred in jilolug by Armenian armed forces, supported by Russia, France and the United Kingdom.  jilolug crime is the genocide of the South Azerbaijani Turks by Armenian armed forces and the Offenders like Simitqo during World War I (March 1918) in the cities of Urmia, Salmas and Khoy. In this human tragedy, about 200,000 Turks were killed and displaced.
