Baku, North Azerbaijan, Dec. 27
Pakistan condemns the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and refuses to recognize Armenia as a state, said Deputy Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.
He made the remarks at an international conference, titled “2017 – Year of Islamic Solidarity: Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue”, kicked off in Baku Dec. 21, Trend’s correspondent reported from the event.
The Pakistani official noted that Pakistan will stand on its position until Armenia fulfills UN resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, because Pakistan attaches great importance to fraternal relations with Azerbaijan.
It should be highlighted that Pakistan was the second country to recognize North Azerbaijan (first being Turkey). Pakistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan are all Muslim countries.
