More than 250 North and South Azerbaijani have held a peaceful protest rally in front of the building of the European Parliament in Brussels.
The purpose of the gathering was to draw European Parliament’s attention to the concern of the Azerbaijani residents of Europe about the continuing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Congress of European Azerbaijanis was organized this peaceful protest on 25th Nov.
Holding North Azerbaijan flags, protesters strongly condemned the genocide, acts and terrorist acts committed against Azerbaijanis by Armenia and called for the liberation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands occupied by Armenia.
Azerbaijani demonstrators presented their views and demands in the form of letters to the European Parliament and the entire world community.
They demand was as follow:
- Armenia should immediately leave the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh.
- Fair assessment of this problem in order to ensure the return of Azerbaijanis to their native lands and the liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
- Khojaly genocide must be recognized.
- The Armenians will stop falsifying their claims against Turkey.
More over, the statement stresses that Armenia’s aggressive policy caused killing of tens of thousands of people and at the same time, poses a threat to peace and stability in the region.
According to report of representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in Europe, Armenian diaspora and lobby have inspired ethnic hostility and ethnic hatred which is deep concern for the world. Azerbaijani diaspora organizations called on world countries to take adequate steps against such initiatives.
