Italy and Turkey Send Its First Aid to Iran-Iraq Border Area (407 dead- more than 6700 injured)

Tabriz,South Azerbaijan,Nov 14

A powerful 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck the Iraq-Iran border region killed more than four hundred people in both countries, sent people fleeing their homes into the night and was felt as far west as the Mediterranean coast, authorities reported on Monday.

The worst damage appeared to be in the Kurdish town of Sarpol-e-Zahab in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah, which sits in the Zagros Mountains that divide Iran and Iraq.

Residents fled into the streets as the quake struck, without time to grab their possessions, as apartment complexes collapsed into rubble. Outside walls of some complexes were sheared off by the quake, power and water lines were severed, and telephone service was disrupted.

Residents dug frantically through wrecked buildings for survivors as they wailed. Firefighters from Tehran joined other rescuers in the desperate search, using the dogs to inspect the rubble.

The hospital in Sarpol-e-Zahab was heavily damaged, and the army set up field hospitals, although many of the injured were moved to other cities, including Tehran.

It also damaged an army garrison and buildings in the border city and killed an unspecified number of soldiers, according to reports.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei immediately dispatched all government and military forces to aid those affected.

However, lack of first aid cause to increase the number of dead and losses.

According to ksl news agency,  Italy is sending 12 tons of tents, blankets, mobile kitchens and other assistance to victims of the powerful earthquake that struck Iraq and Iran.

Turkey has dispatched emergency personnel and aid to northern Iraq following Sunday’s earthquake on the Iraq-Iran border as officials expressed their “deep sadness” at the tragedy.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said his country has taken immediate action to provide medical and food aid to northern Iraq. Kerem Kinik, Turkish Red Crescent’s vice president, told The Associated Press from Habur border gate that 33 aid trucks were en route to Iraq’s city of Sulaimaniyah, carrying 3,000 tents and heaters, 10,000 beds and blankets as well as food.

The Turkish military says a cargo plane transporting aid and emergency personnel arrived in Iraq and Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency reported multiple dispatches by the country’s disaster agency.

Since the most of the dead and injured in the earthquake were Iranian and Iraqi Kurdistan people , GAMAC (Southern Azerbaijan National Liberation Front)as the South Azerbaijan news  agency condolences to the all people of the Kurdistan of Iran and Iraq who lost their relatives.

On  11 August 2012, the 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Southern Azerbaijan–  Garadagh (Qaradağ) regions  which  resulted in huge devastation in the region. And, lack of first aid of the regime caused an increasing number of dead and injures dramatically. 306 deaths,  3,037 injured and homelessness of 16,000 South Azerbaijani people  were the consequence of the regime’s lack of preparedness against natural disasters.

Power and authority are not in war, terror and destruction.Despite the fact  that Power and authority mean quick and timely relief to earthquakes victims and allocation of facilities for the rapid reconstruction of earthquake areas.
