Ahmad Obali in an interview with VOA: The People of Azerbaijan Agree with the Recent Decision of Trump

Washington, US, May 19

Mr. Ahmad Obali, founder, and director of Gunaz Tv (the official media of South Azerbaijan), In an interview with the Voice of America, expressed about the economic and political effects of sanctions against Tehran after the withdrawal of the United States from nuclear deal.

In an interview on May 19, 2018, Mr. Obli told the Voice of America: According to experts, sanctions can undermine Iran’s economy and would reduce Tehran’s influence in the Middle East.

Economic sanctions against Tehran came after the United States announced its decision to abandon its nuclear deal with Iran.

According to Ahmad Obali, the president’s decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal with Tehran has been accompanied by the support of the Azerbaijani people.

He said that after the signing of the nuclear treaty between the world powers and Iran in 2015, Iran received a lot of its blocked money, however, People’s expectations for improving the economic situation and the withdrawal of Iran from international isolation did not take place.

Mr. Obali also highlighted the lack of transparency in the financial system and high level of government corruption and unemployment.

He also referred to the intervention of Tehran in Syria and the high cost of this intervention.

At the end, Mr. Obali mentioned to the main reason of the protests in Iran at the end of last year and early this year which is a heavy economic situation in Iran.

He said:”In the recent past, we have witnessed the weakening of the Iranian government. The nation is ready for everything, just no longer wants this regime to stay.”
