While 2 June is the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of the University of Tabriz, the officials of the University of Tabriz have announced the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the university in September.
Tabriz University authorities have recently announced the ceremony “Celebration of the seventy years of the establishment of the University of Tabriz” will be on Wednesday 29 August 2018.
The organizers of the ceremony are trying to distort the history of Azerbaijan by attributing the establishment of Tabriz University to the Pahlavi era.
However, The foundation stone of Tabriz University was appointed by the leader of the Azerbaijan national government “ Ja’far Pishevari “ on Wednesday 12 June 1946.
According to historical documents of the Azerbaijan national government parliament, the foundation of the University of Azerbaijan (Tabriz) took place on the agenda of the government on 30 December 1945.
The University of Tabriz was officially opened by Seyed Ja’far Pishevari on 12 June 1946.
Tabriz University accepted 60 students for the faculty of medicine, 120 for the pedagogical faculty and 60 for the faculty of agricultural for that year.
The opening of Tabriz University was very important.Dr. Nasratollah Jahanshahloo was the head of the university at that time. And the establishment of Tabriz University by Ja’far Pishevari the leader of Azerbaijan national government is undeniable.
