Extensive Arrests of South Azerbaijan National Activists on the Eve of the Babak Castle Ceremony

Tabriz, South Azerbaijan, July 2

According to Gunaz Tv (the official media of South Azerbaijan), many South Azerbaijani activists have arrested on the eve of the Babak Castle ceremony in different cities of South Azerbaijan by  Iranian regime intelligence office on Monday 2nd of  July 2018.

The name of some South Azerbaijan national and civil right activists is as follows:

-Jaafar Rostami the Turkish national and civil activist arrested in Ardabil at his place of work and transferred to an unknown location.

-Mahdi Houshmand; South Azerbaijani national activist was arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

-Mojtaba Abdoli, the south Azerbaijani national activist, was arrested by the Iranian regime intelligence office in Bostanabad city and transferred to an unknown location.

– Morteza Parvin has beaten at his personal house by Security forces in Ardabil.

-Rahim Gholami well-known South Azerbaijan National activist was arrested and transferred to an unknown location in Ardabil.

-Morteza Mohammadi, a South Azerbaijani civil right activist, was detained by Iranian intelligence agents known as Ettelaat at his workplace in Ahar City today.

-Ms. Ulduz Qasemi has been threatened by intelligence agents who are not allowed to leave the city of Urmia until 11th of July. Otherwise, she will be sentenced to long-term imprisonment.

In addition, Mr. Abbas Lisani, Ali Vaseghi, Vahid Sadegifar ,Asghar Akbarzadeh, Ibrahim Nouri ,Rahim Sasani were arrested in different cities of Iran (Tabriz, Ardabil, Tehran) by Iranian intelligence agents.

It should be noted that local media and well-known news agency in abroad have censored the arrests of South Azerbaijan national activists.
