By manipulating the ecosystem of Lake Urmia, the rich vegetation cover of West part of South Azerbaijan is now being destroyed. Also, the evaporation of water resources has also become very intense in the area.

The interactions of moisture in Urmia Lake and the rich vegetation cover resulted rich water resources manay years ago. However, the emissions of Methane gas from the lake prevents forming of  cloudy clouds above the lake.
