The Tabnak site (an official website of Iran Regime) published a news, confessed that the Lake Urmia was deliberately dying by government which will cause huge numbers of immigration. The site stated that the people of the northwest residing in the territory of Azerbaijan will immigrate to Central regions of Iran inevitably.
Among this environmental disaster, the parliament members of South Azerbaijan are just watching to the regime’s dirty plans against the people of Azerbaijan.

For several years, people and officials were trying to prevent the destruction of the Lake Urmia by a mechanism that was planned. Now, it’s the time to slowly think that how to move a population of over 5 million from the northwestern part of the country to central regions of Iran in dry plateau. The population who are no longer able to live in their ancestral areas in consequence of the drying of Lake Urmia.
According to the last report of country environmental center, The Lake Urmia water level shows a significant decrease of 24 centimeters compare with the last year’s statistics. And, the total area of the lake has declined to 7.850 square kilometers since a year.
Despite the budget that allocated some 10 trillion rials (nearly $250 million) to Lake Urmia restoration program, The Iranian administration was not paid the budget to the Lake Urmia restoration organization.
Lake Urmia is situated in South Azerbaijan between the East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan provinces. Lake Urmia is the largest lake in the Middle East and the third largest salt lake in the world. Registered as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and listed as a wetland of international importance under the 1971 Ramsar Convention.
From now on, it is recommended to authorities of the regime to find a suitable way to inhabit over 5 million South Azerbaijani from their motherland to central regions of Iran.
