Mr.Shakour Pourhossein the representative of Parsabad city in parliament stated that Armenia is responsible for the Outbreak of cancer in South Azerbaijan- Ardabil City.
He urged the Armenian authorities to stop infiltration of the South Azerbaijan River (Araz).
Mr. Shakour Pourhossein called Armenia to end the process of infecting the Araz river .
According to Gunaz Tv (the official media of South Azerbaijan), Pollution of the Araz river (the South Azerbaijan main river) has increased the incidence of cancer dramatically in the Moghan region in Ardebil province.”
It is not the first time that South Azerbaijan authorities warned Armenia in order to pollution of Araz river. Several years, sewage from Armenian power plants and aluminum factories has been polluting the water of Araz River.
Behnam Giglou, Ardabil’s representative in the high council of provinces, said.“The river’s pollution poses serious health risks to people living in South Azerbaijan , particularly in Moghan Plain, Ardabil Province, where the cancer fatality rate is going to increase day by day.”
The Armenian old atomic reactor has contaminated Araz river by industrial wastewater which caused environmental crises . Some officials, people and representatives of South Azerbaijan have repeatedly warned against pollution of the Araz River with industrial waste water from Armenia. However, the Iranian regime does not take a step towards due to its political and trade relations with the occupying country.
