The metropolis of Tabriz is the most polluted city of Iran due to the unprecedented increase in air pollution toady 17th December.
The Tabriz Air Pollution Index has reached 171 PSIs today, which was the most polluted rate of this year and introduced Tabriz as the most polluted city in Iran.
The weather in Tabriz in the last few days is critical in terms of pollution.
Due to this environmental crises ,Tabriz schools closed in all parts of the morning and evening for the second consecutive day due to air pollution on Sunday, 17th December.
Rahim Shohratifar the political and security deputy governor of East Azerbaijan stated that The severity of air pollution in Tabriz has also exceeded the state of emergency.
He added:” of course, with closing schools the pollution problem is not resolved. We request people to use public transport as much as they can instead of using their personal cars.”
